Joseph and Crystal Gruber. We’ve got over a decade’s worth of experience as a married couple, and well over a decade’s experience of missionary experience. Crystal was a Creighton FertilityCare Practitioner for ten years, serving single and married women, and Joseph has a Master’s degree in theology from the Augustine Institute. Our hope is to lead retreats for Catholic young adults on dating; members of the course will get a steep discount for those. And we’ll be available to answer more personal questions as needed! We’d also happily extend discounts to the course if someone you are currently dating would like to jump in as well, or if you are trying to go through the course with a group of friends.

The vision for marriage from Pope Leo XIII (Arcanum Divine), Pope Pius XI (Cast Connubii), Pope Paul VI (Humanae Vitae), and Pope John Paul II (Familiaris Consortio).

Well, we provide summaries of the papal teachings, which is helpful. And we try to present all of the material with a bit of a twist—we’re pretty confident you won’t have heard these ideas put in this way and made this accessible anywhere else.

Anyone who sees that the world, the flesh, and the devil have been working overtime to make even getting married difficult, and who would like to be strengthened so they can take the preparation for the sacrament of matrimony seriously (and maybe themselves a little less seriously…). Whether you’re in a relationship or not, this material will be of use for you!

That really depends! Are you up for some hard work yourself? We can’t guarantee a spouse at the end of the course, but if you go through the material, you’ll be more marriageable, and more capable of discerning marriage, than before!

Both! The issues we raise are pretty universal, and next steps we propose are take-able by men and women alike.

We don’t think so. There may be new ideas, and there’s a lot of reading that you can treat as optional if need be, but we try to marry the practical and the principles enough that no one should get lost.

At least until they finish it, and then maybe longer. We know some who plan on going through the course annually until they find their spouse. Taking each lesson seriously, the course should take about six months to finish.

Pretty Catholic! If you’re Christian and wondering if the Catholicity of the course will throw you, it might! There’s literally a session in which we teach that the organic unfolding of a relationship to greater and greater intimacy is experienced/taught most perfectly in the celebration of Holy Mass and the liturgy of the Church as a whole.

And this course is preparation for the sacrament of matrimony— the particular coming together of male and female that Christ elevated to be an efficacious sign of His love for His Church.
